The one-armed “TidyBot” needs only a few starter examples to figure out how you like your stuff put away. TidyBot uses a large language model (a type of AI similar to the one used in ChatGPT) to rake in information from the internet and learn to identify broad categories of objects like clothes, food, and toys. This means you can give TidyBot just a few examples of where certain belongings go and it will understand to clean up similar items the same way — even if it’s never seen those items before. So far, in real-world tests, the robot can properly put away 85% of objects.
