Tonal’s Performance Manager of Applied Sports Science, Christian Hartford, joined us on Tonal Talk for a discussion about the physiology and science of recovery. He shared why those recovery days are essential to your performance gains, and giving you tips to optimize your Tonal training through recovery techniques.

Christian Hartford has been a Sports Performance Coach for over a decade, most recently as the Head of Athletic Performance at USA Beach Volleyball. He worked with the men’s and women’s Olympic teams, most notably the Tokyo Olympic Games Gold Medalists, April Ross, and Alix Klineman. Before his time with USA Beach Volleyball, Christian was a Strength & Conditioning Coach at University of Maryland, Northwestern University, and University of Michigan. Along with his years of experience working with athletes of all ages and sports, Christian has also worked with adult clients to help them achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals.
