Halal food refers to permissible food or allowed for consumption according to Islamic law (Shariah). Muslims are required to consume only halal food, which means the food should be prepared and processed in a specific way, and certain types of foods are prohibited. Halal food must be prepared with the use of halal ingredients and must be free from any haram (prohibited) substances, such as pork, alcohol, and certain types of meat from animals that were not slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines. Additionally, the person who slaughters the animal must be a Muslim and must recite the name of Allah before killing the animal.
