After the severe windstorm on Sunday, Feb. 4, our crews worked 24/7 to repair the damage caused during the 8-hours of tropical-storm strength wind and gusts exceeding 65 mph. More than 80 SMUD, contract and mutual aid crews worked around the clock to restore power to the 200,000 customers impacted. Even more staff from all around SMUD went above and beyond during the week to support restoration efforts, monitor conditions, communicate with customers and support our crews and community behind the scenes.
