It threw code P0344 which is a cam sensor code. So I decided to replace both my camshaft position sensors on my m54 engine. And boom, that fixed it! Make sure to like and subscribe.

In this video, we show you how to replace the camshaft sensors on a BMW E46 with an M54 engine. The camshaft sensors are responsible for detecting the position of the camshafts and relaying this information to the engine control module. If they fail, it can trigger a fault code such as P0340 or P0344 and cause issues such as rough running or misfires. In this video, we walk you through the process of replacing the camshaft sensors on an E46 M54 engine, step by step. We cover all the tools and parts you'll need, as well as some tips and tricks to make the job easier. If you're experiencing issues with your camshaft sensors or just want to replace them as preventative maintenance, this video is a must-watch.
Sensors: Go to FCP Euro's website and enter in your year make and model then search camshaft sensor. I don't want to mislead you with a specific sensor that fit my car, but might not fit your exact year or model. Thanks
