We’re being warned about upsetting and distressing content now more than ever. But who are trigger warnings really for? Do they work? And could they actually be causing harm?
In this episode Insight talks to Chris who was deployed to Iraq while serving in the Australian Army, and suffered PTSD as a consequence; Kelli who struggled with an eating disorder; Rachel whose phobia of needles prompted her to create a database for trigger warnings and Rachael, whose first-born daughter, Mackenzie, died after being diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, a rare genetic condition.
