Kiara Hern is a budding data scientist interested in using data to inform the change she wants to see in the world. Most recently, she served as Outreach Grid's first Forward Deployment Engineer, working directly with community organizers, nonprofit administrators, and city officials to learn more about their communities, and build technological solutions to help make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in cities and counties across America. Prior to Outreach Grid, she worked in the education sector, developing arts and cultural programs for youth and working to increase access to cultural and higher education opportunities for underserved communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

When she's not coding, you can find her doodling, obsessing over stationary, or strolling around an art museum. She also loves chatting about data science and ways to use data for good!
