Not only does the new Emira come with a manual gearbox, but it’ll also pack the same howling 3.5-litre V6 supercharged engine as the Evora and Exige V6.

Filling the gap between the Porsche Cayman and 911, the Emira (in V6 form) develops 400hp and can be had in either manual or automatic form. You’ll also be able to get an AMG-sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor, likely plucked from the Mercedes-AMG A45 S. This one (we believe) comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch ‘box and (again, we believe) will be the model that boasts the faster 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds. Prices start at £60,000, meaning it could also go up against the Alpine A110 and Toyota GR Supra, and we’ll see deliveries get underway next spring. In the meantime, here are five things you need to know about the new Lotus Emira.
