To date, there have been more than 30,000 deaths from coronavirus infection. WHO has mentioned that most people infected with novel coronavirus have mild disease and recover without complications.
According to law of virology, the body's first line of defense is IgM, which alerts the rest of the immune system. Days to infection, the immune system refines this antibody into a second type call IgG, exquisitely designed to recognize and neutralize a specific virus.
Hence, scientists say that when novel coronavirus enters the body of a person who once was infected, these refined antibodies neutralize the viruses and prevent infection.
However, there have been reports of re-infection defying the law of virology. In all, upto 10% of coronavirus patients seem to have been infected - according to a hospital and quarantine centers in Wuhan. Such cases of re-infection have been reported from other provinces of China too.
These numerous potential cases of re-infection have left scientist perplexed. In this regard they have come with some explanations.

While further studies are needed to understand whether it is possible for an individual to be re-infected with new coronavirus, experts recommend those who have been infected to follow the hygiene steps of CDC.
