Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is caused by calcium carbonate debris (otoconia) which becomes dislodged from a small organ in your inner ear called the Utricle. It may fall into one of three semicircular canals and cause BPPV. The Epley maneuver is a type of exercise help that helps to treat the symptoms of posterior canal BPPV which is the most common variant. Check out the video for self treatment instruction.

Please be advised that there are many variants of BPPV and its best to consult a vestibular specialist to accurately diagnose which ear and which canal is affected.
