By using two simple triads you can construct a hexatonic scale that outlines any scale you want. From modal sounds like Dorian, Lydian and Mixolydian to altered sounds with triad pairs in the melodic minor scale and exotic sounds like the Dorian #4 scale and harmonic minor scale.
