Sub-6 second run in the Tesla Model S Plaid! We finally did it. We had been so close to breaking into the 5 second runs! We ran 3 runs and almost had a 4th, but got rained out. For this drag day, we made a couple "adjustments" and "modifications" to the car. Can you guess what they were?

First run was not intended to be a race. We lined up with whomever was going to run. Good thing, as the guy we got lined up with was a seriously built drag car. We've seen those before. The 'chute gave away his speed. Using launch mode, we were able to pull a 5.982 second pass at 120.42 mph. I was at about 92% SoC.

Second run was intended to be a race, but while lining up i got distracted when my wife called, so I wasn't able to get fully into launch mode. Not wanting to waste the test run, I let launch mode finish setting up and ran 5.995 seconds at 119.70 mph. Car was down to 90% SoC.

Third run was all by ourself. Maybe the other guy chickened out as we were pulling to the line. Tree dropped, but I waited for launch mode to fully set up. Ran a 6.003 sec at 119.16 sec. SoC: 86%.
