A Bermondsey Borough Council Health department film about the importance of cleanliness.

This film was produced by the Bermondsey Borough Council’s Health Propaganda Unit in 1933. It was directed by Dr D M Connan (Bermondsey’s Medical Officer of Health) and Mr H W Bush (Bermondsey’s Chief Administrative Officer) and is a lighthearted yet serious and instructional film about the importance of keeping ourselves clean and the consequences of not doing so. The film is made up of film illustrations and poetic verses on the nature of cleanliness and features many scenes around the old Metropolitan borough in the 1930s including its Turkish baths and swimming baths. A topical film for the 21st Century.

This film is from Southwark Local History Library and Archive, part of the London's Screen Archives Network.
