We want to explore the subcompact crossover segment, as many new vehicles have hit the market over the past several years, including these two Korean-built family haulers. This 2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo and this 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ represent two fully-loaded options from two different manufacturers. On our comparison we go over the important factors buyers want to know if they're in the market for a vehicle like this.

Our 2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo is priced under $33,000.00 Canadian, and comes with many features buyers are looking for in the segment, including LED headlights and tail lights, LED fog lights, keyless entry, remote starter, active cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and a rear backup camera. The Chevrolet Trailblazer also comes with LED headlights, LED fog lights, keyless entry, remote starter, active cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and a rear backup camera, but has halogen high beams. The Trailblazer comes with a panoramic sunroof and power opening rear liftgate.

We go over the exterior specifications of both cars, the 1.6L turbo 4 cylinder engine and 7 speed dual clutch transmission on the Kia Seltos, and the 1.3L turbo 3 cylinder engine and 9 speed automatic transmission on the Chevy Trailblazer. We compare the exterior dimensions and which is greater or better for which vehicle. We then talk about the interior dimensions and specifications for each vehicle.

We then take both subcompact crossovers on comprehensive real-world road tests to discuss our independent fuel economy results, and how each vehicle performs, handles, and rides. We discuss the interior designs and features between each and why you might want to consider one over the other.
