Myelomalacia is a life threatening complication of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). This condition occurs in about 10-15% of patients that are unable to move their legs or feel their toes. This fatal condition manifests as a rapid and progressive necrosis (death) of the spinal cord.
