NASCAR's Worst April Fools Day was April 1st, 1993. Alan Kulwicki had just risen to the top of thee NASCAR Cup Series to become the 1992 Champion. Entering race six of the 1993 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season, Kulwicki was considered a favorite to win his third career race at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, one plane crash would make a routine April Fools joke you tell around the water-cooler a terrifying reality.
