25.06.2022 - Siegburg - Severe collision between a BMW 1 series and a tree

On Saturday evening (25.06.2022), a 22 year old driver of a BMW 1 series lost control of his car while driving through a left hand corner on the Wahnbachtalstraße in Siegburg, Northrine-Westfalia, Germany. The speed limit in this corner is down to 70 kph. The driver hit a tree, ripping the entire quarter panel including the doors and also the engine off the car. The young driver was trapped in his vehicle. Rescue workers cut him free and transported him to a local hospital. His injuries were severe, but not life threatening. The accident may have been caused by speeding. The speedometer stopped between 120 and 140 kph. A local recovery company towed the car.
