Ahhhhh early season Ipsoot, what a great way to brush off the last few summer cobwebs. This sprawling ice-clad beauty is most commonly accessed by snowmobile, helicopter or on foot after a full winter's snowpack blankets the mountain. Ipsoot in early December on foot gives it that extra bit of character and makes for a great full value day in the hills. With daylight hours short, timbers thin and glaciers rugged, Nic and I started early and came prepared to seize the whole day. A pineapple express had recently delivered rain to most high elevation terrain in the area but surely Ipsoot would get us above that crust!
