Ear infections are a common experience for many families, but for energetic 6-year-old Hudson, enduring a nearly three-year ear infection has resulted in profound hearing loss. Last May, Children's infectious disease specialist Dr. Bradford Becken spearheaded Children's Nebraska's first use of a unique treatment called phage therapy, using a naturally-occurring virus to target Hudson's specific drug-resistant bacteria. With the long-lasting infection now finally cleared, Hudson and his family have a happier, healthier new year ahead in 2024.
