Alexis (Lexi) Goodsell is a 14-year-old Children’s patient currently undergoing chemo treatments for B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In October of 2022, Lexi went to her hometown health clinic in Kearney for what her family assumed was a strep diagnosis. Upon reviewing her lab work, her doctor felt that leukemia was a possibility and immediately referred her to Children’s, where she was diagnosed the very next day. She is currently in maintenance phase of her treatments and will receive them consistently through February of 2025. Throughout their journey with Children’s, Lexi’s family has utilized the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House on many occasions. Says her mom, Bobbi, “words truly cannot express the amount of support the Rainbow House program has brought into our lives and our family. From multiple visits and stays there, to the staff always being so kind and thoughtful, the programs they offer through partnerships just to make our families stay a little easier and all the smiles put on Lexi’s face were more than we could have asked for.”
