We do remember a lot of things, right? It’s so normal that we do so. But, do you know there are some modern engineering materials that can remember their shape. This video is about such materials.

In this video, we have explained what shape memory alloys are and how they remember their shape. Shape Memory Effect acquires due to phase transformation that happens in the crystalline structure of the material when it is heated or cooled. The transformation looks more or less similar to the solid-liquid transformation.

We have also explained ‘Pseudoelasticity’, another important property of the shape memory alloys and the different applications of shape memory alloys with its advantages and disadvantages.
