This update comes from Mithheru radar and follows the successful and highly rated R7 International firmware version 138.

Following also from Uniden America’s successful release of the R7 141 US firmware, the 141 firmware has now superseded with an NZ specific version 145 with some bug fixes and many additional enhancements over US141. This adds some additional K band performance improvements, new GPS enhancements and features. It also features a completely new GPS database format which allows support for many more camera types and their associated features.

This video shows testing of the new features with a demonstration test GPS database, but which also includes some real cameras. This video also includes some real encounters with police Ka band and Mobile redflex camera vans.

For New Zealand, version 145 thereby adds some features previously seen only on R7 v138 International. However, many of the features, including the new GPS database format are not yet available on any other version. In future it is also aimed the new database format and features can also be applied onto the R3 and DFR9. At this stage, R7forNZ v145 is currently only available for the new hardware version of the R7. However, a matching version for the original R7 hardware will also be available in due course.
