Harf Of Case 3 – Wa وَ, Ta تَ, Ka كَ

Harf Of Case 3 in Arabic is called Harf Al Jarr or Harful Jarr.

Teacher : Saad ibn Sabah
Presentation : Sirat Al Mustaqeem

-------------------

VIDEO'S TEXT FORMAT:

Wa = وَ = I swear by (anything)

So if someone says
Wa Allahi
= I swear by Allah

Now interesting thing is in Arabic there are two Harf written like Wa

So,
One Wa falls in the category of Normal Harf

Wa = وَ = And (Normal Harf)

Other Wa falls in the category of Harf of Case 3

Wa = وَ = I swear by (anything)

So when,

The ism following Wa is in Case 3,
Means this Wa means "I swear by"

And when the ism following Wa is in Case 1,
Or a Verb or another harf follows Wa

Then this means this Wa means "And"

Another example :

Wa Arsala Alaihim Tayran Ababeela

وَاَرسَلَ.....
= And He sent

Here wa is followed by a verb,

So this Wa too is Normal Harf and therefore means "And"

So that's all for Wa

-------

Next let's talk about another Harf of Case 3, which is

Ta

Ta = I swear by (Allah)

This Harf is only and only used with the name of Allah

It's only used like

Ta Allahi = I swear by Allah

Tallahi is a bigger oath than Wallahi

And Tallahi is sometimes used in some aspects of Shariah infront of the Qadhi (Judge) in an Islamic Court

That's all about the Harf Ta

I repeat the only usage of the Harf Ta you will find is "Ta + Allahi" = pronounced as Tallahi = meaning I swear by Allah.
(This is a very serious oath)

Next let's discuss another easy Harf Ka = Like

This ka means like (in resemblence of)

Fa Ja'alahum ka-asfin ma'koolin

فجعلهم كَعَصفٍ مأكولٍ

And He made them like eaten straw.

Fa = Then

Ja'ala = he made

Ja'alahum = he made them

Ka = like
Asf = straw (in case 3 Asfin)

Ma'kool = chewed (in case 3 ma'koolin)

Ka Asfin Ma'koolin

Ma'kool (chewed) is adjective of Asf (straw), thats why both are in case 3.

Asf is in case 3 bcoz of the effect of ka = like which is Harf of Case 3

I hope you understood this far inn shaa Allah

Two more Harf remain for today

--------

bi = with/in

Bi may sometimes means with and sometimes mean in...

(Sometimes it may also be meaning totally random preposition like regarding, towards etc)

See,

There is another Harf

Ma' مع = With

And

Fi = فى = in

Then how come Bi بِ also means with/in??

The difference is,

Bi is always used for an idea (that which you cannot touch), eg - love, hate, promise, oath, victory, name, knowledge, mercy etc.

Ma' and Fi is used for physical things like Person, Place, thing - chair, table, etc
