Quran Grammar Explained
Wallazina hum bi-shahaadaaatihim Qaa-imoonal
Wa = and (because the next word is a Harf)
Allazina = those who (Normal Harf - we will discuss this later)
Hum = they
Bi = in/with
Shahaadaaatihim = their testimonies
(Shahaadah شَهادة = testimony. It's plural will be Shahaadaaatun شهاداتٌ)
(Because of bi Shahaadaaatun becomes Shahaadaaatin.
their testimonies = shahadaaatuhum,
Because of Bi, shahaadaatuhum becomes shahadaatihim.
If you are finding trouble to understand ask this.
Qaaim ٌقاءِم = firm person (in Urdu we say Qayam rahne wala)
Qaaimoona = just like "Muslim Muslimoona, Qaaim Qaaimoona
So the point is..
Here testimony is an idea.
You can't touch a testimony,
Therefore... Bi بِ is used for "in", instead of Fi فى
Inna Allaha Ma' Al-Saabireena
اِنَّ اللهَ مع الصابِرينَ
(I am not sure if the spelling of saabireena is correct)
In this example, Saabireena means people with patience.
Saabir = patient person
Sabiroona = patient people (plural)
Sabireena = patient people (plural case 3)
------
Because patient people are physical stuff, and we can touch people, therefore we used Ma مع for with instead of Bi بِ
I hope I was able explained it well
Ask if you have any confusion
------
Next, and last Harf for today is Li/La لِ/لَ = For
90% of times you will find Li = for
Very rarely in Quran you will find La = for
(Note : there are other meanings of La and you will find La very often, it doesn't always mean For.
But Li always means for)
Al Hamdu Li Allahi
= The parise is for Allah
Li Allahi Maa Fi As-Samaawaati Wa Al-Ardhi
لِاللهِ ما في السماواتِ وَالعرضِ
Li = for
Allahi = Allah (case 3 because of Li)
Maa = what (normal harf)
Fi = in
Al-samaai = the heaven (physical object that's why Fi is used instead of Bi)
Wa = and
Al-Ardhi = the earth
For Allah is what is in the heavens and the earth
Rarely "La = for" is also used
Famous example is
Lakum deenukum wa liya deeni
La = for
Lakum = for you all
Deenukum = your religion
Wa = and
Liya لىَ = for me (I will explain this)
Deeni دينِ = religion
Deeneee ديني = my religion
This ayah deals with very advanced topic, why Deeni دينِ is used here instead of deeneee ديني...
I will have to tell the whole history of Quran for this. But I have a seperate lesson for it later on.
So let's skip this question of why simply Deeni دينِ is used for My religion istead of Deeneee ديني
As for Liya = for me
We will study day after tomorow this topic about how to say,
For me
For you
For him
For her
Etc
From me
From you
To me
To you
Etc
And similarly for each and every Harf.
------
We learnt
Bi Ta Ka Li/La Wa
Tomorrow we will try to cover as much as possible and try to finish till Harf of Case 3 inn shaa Allah with examples
