"Jukebox Alive" is ready to take you back to days long gone. Put some change in the jukebox and you will be transported back to 1966. I remember this song well. I was about to turn 14 years in 1966 when "Sunny Afternoon" by The Kinks became a hit. This sixties' video, a vignette with a car, dogs and snow, was a pioneering effort that predates the music videos that became common in the early '80s.

It was written by The Kink's main songwriter, a rock legend himself, Ray Davies. It was political (which went over this kid's head), referencing the high tax rates favored by the British Labor government. Regardless of the tune being about Great Britain, it played well in the U.S. "Sunny Afternoon," a Reprise records release in America, peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart in early autumn of 1966. The B-side was "I'm Not Like Everybody Else."

Interestingly, the song has also been covered by Jimmy Buffett, Stereophonics, Michael McDonald, and Michael Caruso.
