I ended up in bed for a total of 3 months with chronic illnesses. Mainly I have 2 genetic mutations on an already disordered blood disorder and it causes me to not make iron or store it now. I had been waiting for an iron infusion that never came and was denied. The doctors didnt care that I had already been in bed for 2 months, so I had to take matters into my own hands and Ive stopped going to see the doctors that were treating me. I had left them 4 messages and talked to them over the phone explaining that I felt like I wasnt going to make it. They had the results of my bloodwork in front of them, and although they said its lower than theyve ever seen it on a person, they did not take any action to help me. This is when I realized they didnt actually care. They gave me no other alternatives, they didnt explain what I should do next, they just left me in the bed. After a few months, still, no one has called to see if I'm alive. Now I am very aware that I am on my own and when a complicated medical case comes to them, they would rather look the other way. Hey, you are not alone in your health battles. We need to help each other figure this out and give support to those who need it, by sharing our story and things that have helped us along the way.
