The E-Class has been updated for 2021 with lots of new tech and features. Can it claw its way ahead of the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6?

It certainly has big boots to fill. Not only does it need to be an posh family saloon, but it also needs to function as a Taxi, an executive limp and the basis of the mad E63 S performance car. The car we'll be testing is an AMG-Line, but not the full-fat AMG model. It's the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) E300de, which boasts over 700Nm of torque and an all-electric range of up to 35 miles. Is it worth considering over its rivals? Time to find out!
