The Elantra N was designed to be Hyundai's sedan-shaped answer to the Subaru WRX, sportback Civicv Type R and the hatchback Golf R. Unlike the Subaru however the Elantra uses a more conventional inline turbo engine and a dual clutch transmission rather than a CVT. Will the WRX be more fun when equipped with a manual transmission thanks to it having standard AWD? I expect so, but I haven't driven it yet to stay tuned... If you're looking for a hot compact sedan that won't break the bank, this and the new WRX coming a little bit later will really be your only options...
