The new Essential versions sport a very similar design to the originals, complete with OLED screens and that Always On Display. You've got the same sensor tech for tracking your heart rate, SPO2 levels and other fitness stats. Plus of course full notifications support.

In fact, the Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e also boast a new temperature sensor, and improved battery life. They're among the best smartwatches in 2021 for longevity, offering 2-3 weeks of life per charge.

You only lose a few features vs the older watches, including on-board music support and speakers.
