Click this for an honest Mustang Mach 1 review featuring a spirited drive through the country and always with lots of actual real facts and content. We were so excited to get the opportunity to review the new 2022 Mustang Mach 1 and give a big thank you to Michael for the opportunity. Coming in at a base price of $53,000 MSRP this one was one of the most affordable options on the market. If it had the handling package and all the upgrades, it could check the box in the mid $ 60s which is GT/350 and GT500 base pricing territory.

I will say, I loved the spec on this Mustang Mach 1 - Iconic Silver is a solid color, and love the Mach 1 stripes. Really the whole Mustang Mach 1 just looks good even without the Handling Performance Packages. We really liked the black wheel design, the front is aggressive and a bit retro and the back is just as cool and aggressive.

Now let's talk about the Mustang Mach 1 performance which let's face it is why you buy a Mustang. After all, this is a sports car, and performance matters. The 2022 Mustang Mach 1 has a 5.0 V8 naturally aspirated engine making they say 480 hp and 460 ft-pounds of torque. This propels the Mustang Mach 1 to 60 in roughly 4.2 seconds, and let me tell you the sounds this engine makes are orgasmic to a petrolhead. The Mustang Mach 1 does run the quarter mile in 12.6 sec @ 113.1 as well.

Just watch this Mustang Mach 1 review, and listen to that engine scream rolling through what may just be one of the best 6-speed Tremec transmissions on the market today. I will say though, the Mustang Mach 1 does NOT sound as good as the previous Shelby GT350 generation, but it's not far off.

One negative of the Mustang Mach 1 is the interior quality. Like the previous Shelby GT350 and current GT500, these special edition Mustangs just do not have the cockpit X factor that other manufacturers do. The cockpit of the Mustang Mach 1 is filled with cheaper plastics, and it still looks in many ways like a base-level car. We did like some of the Mach 1 details, and the seats are very comfortable, but overall this is a letdown for over $50k plus dollars.

What really surprised us about the Mustang Mach 1 is the engine. I was not expecting a 7,500 RPM redline and boy does this engine scream. While it does not do 8,250 like the previous Shelby 350, it makes more torque down low at 460 so in many ways, it's as fast or faster.
