Vintage airplanes don't require vintage polishing methods. In the episode I teach Mindy (  / schmiiindy  ) and Kevin how to polish the aluminum on their vintage Cessna 182.

Contrary to popular hangar talk, it shouldn't take 100's of hours a year to keep these bare aluminum looking their best. Using a systematic approach and the right tools, this becomes a much more manageable (and dare I say enjoyable) task!

This Cessna 182 had the original black paint from when it left the Wichita factory in the 1950's. The paint was very dull and also super thin so paint correction was done very carefully. A ceramic coating was applied to protect the little remaining paint and remove the need to polish again.

Then, we moved onto Aluminum polishing to bring the unpainted bare aluminum to a high shine.

A very long and messy project, but very satisfying!
