American Oystercatchers are solitary nesters, and very territorial of their nesting area. I have been observing this family of Oystercatchers (Archie, AE, and their 3 chicks YA4, YA5, and YA6) for well over a month. This is their typical reaction when other Oystercatchers or Seabirds try to enter their nesting habitat.
