The UCSF School of Dentistry provides financial support for student leaders who have overcome disadvantages to pursue a career in dentistry. Many of these students are inspired to improve oral health disparities in underrepresented, minority communities in the U.S. where an estimated 50,000 dentists are needed. Without scholarship support, these dental students would struggle to repay educational debt and still work with communities in need.
