Ola Electric files for IPO:

1. Ola Electric has finally filed for an IPO - making it India’s first EV company to do so.
2. They are planning to raise 5,500 crore rupees through the IPO as part of their fresh issue.
3. They are also expected to raise another 1,750 crore rupees through the offer-for-sale route of the IPO.

FirstCry files for IPO:

1. FirstCry’s parent company Brainbees Solutions has filed for an IPO .
2. they are planning to raise 1,816 crore at an estimated valuation of about 4 billion dollars.
3. FirstCry is India’s largest omnichannel retailer for baby products - selling over 1 million SKUs from more than 6,800 brands.

Awfis files for IPO:

1. The company is planning to raise 160 crore rupees through the IPO.
2. They claim to the India’s largest flexible workspace solutions provider with 136 centers spread across 16 Indian cities offering 81,433 seats to their more than 2,139 clients.

Code.org sues WhiteHat Jr:

1. Troubles for Byju’s continue. This time it’s WhiteHat Jr, a company Byju’s had acquired for 300 million dollars in cash in 2020.
2. Code.org, a US-based educational non-profit organisation has filed a lawsuit against WhiteHat Jr for breach of contract.
3. According to the lawsuit, back in 2021, WhiteHat Jr had entered into a licensing deal with Code.org - where WhiteHat Jr would use Code.org’s offerings like App Lab, Sprite Lab and Game Lab for its own coding courses.

Paytm lays off 1,000 employees because of AI:

1. According to multiple media reports, Paytm has reportedly laid-off 1,000 employees, which is 10% of their workforce.
2. The news hasn’t been officially confirmed by Paytm.
3. The employees that have been laid-off are from sales, operations and the engineering team. And these employees are reportedly being replaced by AI.

Funding News:

1. Indian startups raised a total of 746.02 million dollars throughout the entire month.
2. That’s significantly higher than the 400.16 million they raised in November.
3. 340 million dollars to be precise went to B2B e-commerce startup Udaan alone.
4. Kitchens@ raised 65 million dollars in their series C round.
5. Vegrow raised 46 million dollars in their series C round.
6. Sarvam AI, the Indian AI startup working on Indian language LLMs, which raised 41 million dollars, in their series A round.
7. Indian startup managed to raise 14 million dollar throughout the entire week.
8. It was just Revfin, an EV lending startup, which raised 14 million dollars in its series B round.
