Chicken dish with Rice and Saffron Tahdig

Chicken with Rice and Saffron Tahdig is a classic Persian dish that is both delicious and simple to make. It is typically made with boneless, skinless chicken thighs, basmati rice, saffron, and spices.
The chicken and rice are cooked together in a pot, and the saffron gives the dish a beautiful golden color and a delicate flavor.
The tahdig, or crispy rice crust, is the highlight of the dish. It is created by cooking the rice over medium heat until the bottom layer is golden brown and crispy.

Ingredients:
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads, steeped in 1/4 cup hot water
• 2 cups basmati rice, washed and drained
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon salt

Method:
Today we are going to make Chicken dish with Rice and Saffron Tahdig in a very simple way.
First, cut the onions.
Add the ingredients to the pan in order:
• First the onion
• Then chicken
• Spices
• and saffron

Now pour the washed rice into the pot.
Add water to the pot until it covers the rice by about an inch.
and also add oil and a little salt to it.
Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Rice should be half cooked on medium flame.
Be careful not to cook the rice completely.
Now remove the half-cooked rice from the pot.
Keep the size of a cup of rice.
Add oil and saffron to it and mix well.
and make the surface of the rice smooth and slightly compressed.
Now return the rest of the rice to the pot.
Put it on the heat until it is completely cooked.
and enjoy.

Tips

• For a more flavorful tahdig, add a few tablespoons of yogurt to the rice before spreading it in the bottom of the pot.
• To prevent the rice from sticking to the pot, make sure to use a non-stick pot or line the bottom of the pot with parchment paper.
• If the rice is not cooked through after 15 minutes, add a little more water and simmer for another 5 minutes.
