Some apologetically Canadian personal finance content this week! I'm covering the Tax Free First Home savings account that was a part of Justin Trudeau's liberal platform. Now that he has secured a few more years in office i'm hoping that this account comes to fruition. The First Home TFSA or First Home Savings Account (FHSA) as it's sometimes called will help Canadians afford a downmpayment on their first home by providing some major tax advantages for those specifically saving up for a house.

A downpayment is a very popular use for the regular TFSA that is already a Canadian personal finance tool. So this will only provide more flexibility and help to those who have home ownership as one of their financial goals. This is a must watch for any first time homebuyer in Canada.
