Syria has disappeared from the headlines — but what is it like for some Syrians now?

Over the last 11 years, people in #Syria endured severe losses. Scores of them were displaced, and many lost family members, their homes and livelihoods.
I travelled there with the World Food Programme, an organization with a neutral approach that focuses on the humanitarian emergency in that country.

While I was there, I met Ghufran — a woman who has lost so much, but her irrepressible spirit is undeniable AND she is a former Taekwondo champion — she told me she dreamed of competing at the Olympics one day! 🥋💥
