Thirty years ago, we woke up to the news that he was gone. Remember how everyone was talking about it?

It was a time when depression and addiction weren't talked about the way they are today, especially how it tangled up with the chaos of fame.

Depression and addiction affect so many, and it's not as easy as choosing to be happy or not. It's complex, clinical, and can deeply impact one's life.

Just wanted to toss out some thoughts on being sensitive towards artists and the ongoing dialogue about what it means to find happiness and what it may mean.
