Here I have a natural sharpening stone of which I have no idea what type it is.
My best guess is some kind of slate. I am pretty confident it isn't an Arkansas stone.
In this video I get it ready for sharpening by lapping the top flat and then conditioning the surface of the stone.
I also test it out to see what kind of scratch pattern it leaves. It also leaves a very sharp edge.
