Use this technique at your own risk! Here, we are showing how you can mount an Atlas, original style Shore Station, or Lakeshore Products canopy frame (all 3 are nearly identical design, this may work on other brands too, if they do not have a center rib running the length of the canopy frame). Normally, we would do this starting on the opposite side of the lift to avoid the crank wheel if there is one since it would interfere, but this lift has a motor instead of the crank wheel, so we had plenty of clearance and the benefit of the dock lining up easier this way to walk the frame out from shore. We have aluminum crossbars that we designed and custom made for ourselves with two width options and adjustable length chains to use to protect the boat (or just make it much easier when doing in the yard) and allow for the canopy frame to slide across before it is easily lifted into place on the upright cups where it will mount. You may be able to gently secure a heavy duty 2" ratchet strap across it as a slackline in place of our custom aluminum tubes, but again use that completely at your own risk, too much tension will likely bend or destroy the uprights and could cause damage or injury if it fails, we're just simply providing theoretical ideas for if you get in a pinch. When in doubt, always hire a professional! Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our channel if you enjoy seeing these types of tips!
