Nar Restaurant serves traditional Azeri recipes amidst a beautiful home garden setting, this restaurant to me is simply a place of dreams. Everything is done traditionally, and you'll be tasting the smoke, the oils and seasonings, the heart of Azerbaijan's favorite foods in every dish.

This is my first time to ever have Azeri food, and this style of cooking is just blowing me away, and I am specifically so happy to FINALLY learn, to see, to EAT, all the delicious possibilities of this amazing 'Saj' wok barbecue! (Saj is also called Saj Ici, and although it's not the national dish of Azerbaijan, its surely a top contender for 'best food memory' you'll be taking take home!)

I can't wait to show you the highlight of our meal (Lamb barbecue... in a wok!?), but also the kebabs, the incredible lamb dumpling soup (my personal favorite dish actually was 'Khinjal,' a beef-noodle with sour cream combination, worth a trip just for this!!), on top of all of this the totally new experience of an extended stay for tea and dessert in Azerbaijan style... this is an incredible evening.

'What makes a BEST ever meal?' is a question that will in my mind will of course include many things besides just the ingredients in each dish - and its when answering questions like this that make the heart and soul of a restaurant like Nar so obvious. Treating us like family, keeping us for hours, this is a beautiful memory of the trip that I will never forget!
