Y'all, we stayed at Tokinoyu Setsugetsuka in Hakone and it was INCREDIBLE. We took the kids to this all-inclusive hot springs resort and let us just say... it was a game changer! For those who don't know, an onsen is a hot springs bath house enjoyed by the Japanese. It's a very traditional with many unique experiences for a young American family such as ours.

We stayed a few nights here at the tail end of our trip to Japan, where we spent some of maternity leave to bond as a newly minted family of five. After the wild and crazy walking fest that was Tokyo, Hakone offered the opposite: a getaway to just relax.

The Tokinoyu Setsugetsuka included breakfast and dinner, late night ramen, coffee, tea, you name it. Meals were a traditional prix fixe menu with multiple courses. And during the day, you can explore the town, take a dip in the private onsens, or if you're brave (which... of course we had to) go check out the public bath house.

Walking around naked isn't something that's part of American culture, so it provided a lot of learning experiences for the whole family. What's it like for kiddos? How about for a 2-month post-partum mom? Watch the video to find out!
