Grab those summer fruits that are ripening on your countertop, because today Molly’s going to demonstrate the most delectable way to put them to use. Jammy fruits get surrounded by a buttery cake batter, and then everything gets topped with homemade Frosted Flakes. Baking the pie cake in a cast iron skillet allows the batter to turn crusty and crunchy at the edges while leaving a tender, cakey middle, which results in what can only best be described as: pie cake.

1 ½ sticks unsalted butter
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons whole milk
Creme fraiche, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream, for serving
