The S-Class has to face the mighty Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series in the luxury limo world, but the new model ups the technology and luxury to put it ahead of the competition.

We’ll skip over the performance stats, as they’re mostly irrelevant in the S-Class. This is a car to be driven in, after all. So here are the tech highlights: a giant OLED touchscreen in the centre console akin to an iPad, optional rear-wheel steering and an augmented reality head up display to name but a few. And for those looking to get chauffeured about, the rear can be specced with reclining seats, a retractable front seat and even a mini fridge. It’s not cheap at £86,000, particularly if you go for the long-wheelbase version at £96,000, but it might just be the best luxury limo on the market. That is until the new Range Rover arrives…
