I spent the weekend at the original Haunted Mansion. Located in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania the Harry Packer Mansion was the inspiration for Disney World's haunted mansion. The architecture is practically identical. It is not nearly as spooky as Disney’s haunted mansion and sadly there are no ghosts. There are many nods to not only Disney World but also the Haunted Mansion ride throughout. The staff has been amazing and has shared many stories with us about the history and the backstory of the imagineers who found this mansion and made it the iconic Disney attraction that it is today. I will be sharing several videos of our experience in Jim Thorpe and The Harry Packer Mansion. I hope that you enjoy coming along.
