For years scientists have modelled artificial intelligence systems on neural networks, inspired by the real biological networks of neurons in the brain. But if you turn that around, it suggests that our brains must operate on some sort of programming language — the neural code, as Prof. Adrienne Fairhall puts it. Adrienne is not just a world-leading researcher on computational neuroscience, she's an ISS alumnus, having attended way back in 1985!
Adrienne spoke at ISS Online 2022, the Professor Harry Messel International Science School hosted by the University of Sydney, July 2022.
