This is a design I created for a small bow saw I plan on using for fine joinery but also rough cross cuts. The ability to change to the blade and tension it accordingly gives this saw diverse functionality. It can be disassembled for easy transport as well.

This video teaches you how to build a bow saw with hand tools, along with the video I have created shop drawings and pdf print outs so that it can be easily be made by my viewers if they so choose. With the plans of this bow saw you can realistically build it in a few hours with hand tools, and maybe under an hour with a fully dressed wood shop. This saw resembles a frame saw with similar functionality. The frame saw is designed more so for long rip cuts. Both of these saws embrace the off-grid woodworking trend that is emerging, the ability to start from step one in your wood shop and slowly build what you need. Saving on budget and increasing how satisfying the practice is.
