From cleaning up the dirty and disgusting hospitals of the Crimean War and changing the reputation of nurses from being uneducated drunkards to respected and valued members of the health service, Florence Nightingale helped to change nursing forever!

For this year's International Nurses Day we remember not only the incredible contributions Florence Nightingale made to nursing, but on this the 200th anniversary of her birth, we recognise and celebrate the dedication, compassion and care that our nurses today continue to show.
