If you have an app that shows private property (such as OnX Hunt) you can see which is private (low cost) or public (free)

I also hiked Wildcat Trail down in Monument Valley - and amazing experience. It's on the Navajo Reservation, $10 for the daily pass. Totally worth it. I'm sure there are other hiking trails and other things to see, but this one is totally worth it!
