On Thursday, November 12, 2020, more than 300,000 people from around the world viewed “Water and Sanitation for All: The Fight Against Pandemics,” the inaugural program in our “Rise or Fall Together” Event Series.

This special 1-hour online event focused on the goal of ensuring safe water, basic sanitation and hygiene, and essential pandemic preparedness (WASHPAP) for every person on Earth by 2030.

OneShared.World founder Jamie Metzl was joined in the discussion by:

• Suresh Prabhu, Minister of the Parliament India and Sherpa to the G20 and G7

• Shah Chowdhury, Co-Founder and President of Footsteps Bangladesh and winner of the 2020 AFS Prize for Young Global Citizens

• Jack Sim, Founder of the the World Toilet Organization and the World Toilet Day initiative.

These distinguished WASHPAP experts and leaders discussed these essential questions:

With the G20 meetings coming up at the end of November, how can we get government leaders to focus on these critical issues in the midst of the global health crisis?

What is the importance of WASHPAP in fighting Covid-19 and future pandemics?

How is WASH being addressed globally now and what is the importance of the roles of governments, civil society orgs, businesses, and individuals?

Afterwards, event attendees continued the conversation — including actions everyone can can take — in our virtual break-out rooms.

This includes signing the WASHAP2030 petition to G20 leaders at: https://oneshared.world/washpap-campa...
